Gingerbread Cookies



  1. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl (except brown sugar and lemon zest)
  2. Melt butter on stove
  3. Add molasses and brown sugar to butter and mix well
  4. Turn off heat once sugar is melted
  5. Stir in vanilla, lemon zest, and egg
  6. Slowly add in dry ingredients, mix until forms soft dough
  7. Transfer to plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours
  8. Preheat oven to 350 deg
  9. Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness
  10. Cut into desired shapes and transfer to baking sheet
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes
  12. Decorate
