Corn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/4 cup milk (or almond milk)
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 5 tbsp butter
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Mix dry ingredients (cornmeal, flour, salt, baking powder, sugar)
- Mix in wet ingredients (egg, melted butter, milk)
- On a stove, preheat a cast iron skillet with the 5 tbsp of butter
- Pour batter into the cast iron once the butter is melted and place in the oven
- Bake for 18 - 20 minutes, or until the center is set and edges have a crust
